Neu an "First Cow" ist vor allem die Tonlage, die der Film im letzten Drittel anschlägt. Da kippt er immer stärker in Richtung milder Comedy. Das liegt vor allem an der überzeichnet dummschwätzenden Figur des Siedler-Chefs, der wortreich von Cookies Backwaren schwärmt  - und sich darüber wundert, warum seine Kuh so wenig Milch gibt. Daraus entspinnen sich einige Szenen, die zu sehr auf Kalauer aus sind und Cookie und King-Lu für einige Zeit austauschbar erscheinen lassen. In den letzten Szenen findet der Film dann aber doch wieder zu sich selbst und zu seinem Rhythmus zurück. Und wenn die beiden dann am Ende so daliegen und man weiß, dass jetzt kommt, was kommen muss, hat man die beiden wieder ins Herz geschlossen. Fazit: "First Cow" ist sicher nicht Kelly Reichardts bester Film, aber eine liebenswerte Geschichte über zwei ungleiche Freunde. After reports she was looking to make a movie abroad, Kelly Reichardt returns to the familiar wilds of Oregon with “ First Cow, ” a loose yet engaging adaptation of Pacific Northwest chronicler (and frequent Reichardt collaborator) Jon Raymond’s novel “The Half-Life” — which, according to the director, was the book that made her want to work with him in the first place. Set a decent stretch before “Meek’s Cutoff, ” an austere frontier disaster movie that explored the tragic fate of ill-prepared pioneers along the Oregon Trail, “First Cow” restores this familiar territory (which she and Raymond have been exploring since “Old Joy”) to an earlier time, just as the Royal West Pacific Trading Post receives its first dairy cow. Today, Americans take convenience for granted: Milk is sold by the gallon, biscuits can be gotten ready-made and a sophisticated economy exists for the buying and selling of goods. But Reichardt imagines a situation before so-called civilization — although, by the 1820s, the area had in fact been inhabited for thousands of years, it was still a few decades from statehood — when two outsiders without status found opportunity there, as well as an unlikely kind of friendship, by stealing the milk from the aforementioned cow to make “oily cakes” in a far-flung camp starved for any taste of home. In their capacity as a mass medium, the movies have been such a powerful tool in shaping the public’s ideas of masculinity that it’s uncommon to see grown men embrace, or otherwise show any kind of physical affection. With this film, and to the extent that you accept Reichardt’s minimalist version of the past as accurate, the director invites us to consider what we have lost since society caught up with this primeval enclave on the edge of the world. Considering the attention Reichardt typically pays to female characters, one might rightly ask, where are the women in “First Cow”? There’s one in the opening scene: Alia Shawkat plays an anonymous young Oregonian — let’s call her Wendy — who’s walking her dog (might as well be Lucy) in the woods, when the animal finds a bone. Turns out, it’s a human cranium, long abandoned and only half buried. Lucy wanders off, while Wendy kneels and starts to brush away the surrounding dirt, slowly (everything happens slowly in Kelly Reichardt movies), to reveal two skeletons, both male, lying side by side, holding hands. That’s the last we see of Wendy or Lucy. From there on, “First Cow” unfolds in the past, concerning itself instead with other mysteries: Who were these two men? How did they get there? How did they die? And what was their relationship? At least, these questions are where certain minds will immediately gravitate, although the beauty of Reichardt’s work is that her movies are slender and unhurried and open-ended enough to invite any number of reactions. With “First Cow, ” we could just as easily muse on the fact that this 21st-century hiker has chosen this afternoon to venture out into the wild, looking for … what? Most likely, she just wanted to escape her modern life for a few hours, to get away from the traffic, ignore the telephone and lose herself in nature. “First Cow” offers audiences the same opportunity, even if this particular excursion should be laced with melancholy, seeing as how the two men we’re about to meet are bound to die together. Following along as he collects mushrooms, we meet “Cookie” Figowitz (John Magaro), so-called because he prepares the meals for a traveling group of salty fur trappers. Cookie is soft-spoken and too gentle for the likes of them, barely capable of catching wild animals for supper (at one point, he pauses to flip a salamander squirming on its back). He’s certainly not prepared to defend himself from the curious stranger (Orion Lee) he stumbles upon hiding naked in the brush. At first, Cookie assumes this exotic-looking man is a Native American, only to discover that he’s in fact Chinese, a sailor named King-Lu, on the run from a group of Russians, and desperately hungry. Cookie could easily turn him in, but instead chooses to assist King-Lu, establishing in that instant a connection that blooms when the two men are reunited a short time later at the trading post, a makeshift community with precious few women — and even less in the way of livestock. Here, Reichardt and Raymond’s script takes its most significant departure from the novel. In the book, Cookie and a different friend earn their fortune trading castoreum, a sweet-smelling substance beavers use to mark their territory. The screen version streamlines their capitalistic venture considerably: Cookie cooks — while King-Lu markets — “oily bread” they make using milk stolen from the colony’s English chief factor (Toby Jones), who has married a Native (Lily Gladstone), lives in a proper house and owns the primitive settlement’s first and only cow. That’s a simpler idea, and one that lends the ensuing story a basic, fable-like quality — far preferable to the relatively elaborate plot of Raymond’s book (described by Kirkus Reviews as “unglamorous and sad, but compelling, ” which could also be said for most of Reichardt’s movies). Reichardt specializes in pared-down narratives, sometimes stripping away so much that boredom sets in. “First Cow” may be lean, but it offers ample room to ruminate in the comparison between its two time periods. Reuniting with “Meek’s Cutoff” DP Christopher Blauvelt, Reichardt once again confines the West’s panoramic potential to a nearly square cinematic frame — although in this case, the boxed-in Academy ratio serves to shift our focus from the land to the special bond between these two characters, which is a beautiful thing. If there are conspicuously few female characters in Reichardt’s latest film (Natives are also included, but strictly in supporting roles), it’s because the director wants to draw attention to a kind of homophilic connection. While not impossible today, it seems easier beyond society’s reach, when the Pacific Northwest was still wild and friendship wasn’t something one declared publicly via Facebook moments after making someone’s acquaintance, but a kind of profound intimacy that developed over time. She and her regular screenwriting collaborator Jonathan Raymond have adapted Raymond’s own 2004 novel The Half-Life, evidently pruning some of the epic adventures in the original and bringing it down to a tensely immediate situation. She and Raymond tell their story with force and skill and the movie is shot with beautiful simplicity. There’s a muscular authority in its plainness and its calm, unshowy evocation of the American landscape. A prelude in the present day shows a young woman discovering two human skeletons shallowly buried in Oregon woodland. What is the story here? Reichardt takes us back to the 1820s where “Cookie” Figowitz (John Magaro) is a slippery adventurer who has been hired as a cook in a trapping party but has proved utterly incompetent – at least as far as his aggressive and hungry fellow trappers are concerned. So he splits from them and finds himself befriending an itinerant Chinese worker called King Lu (Orion Lee), and for a while, the pair seem no more than a couple of hobos, finding common cause in their own loneliness. They dream of getting rich as entrepreneurs - and they are not stupid or lazy. But of course any new business needs capital. And how to get it? Why, with that certain special something that is the invisible foundation stone of all great fortunes: a crime. Lu points out that a cow has arrived in the territory: the first cow, and as such the object of exotic fascination. It belongs to the chief factor, an effete and absurd Englishman (Toby Jones), and the pair hatch a bold plan: to creep into the factor’s meadow at the dead of night, milk this cow and use the precious liquid to make “oily cakes”. These are rich and delicious buttermilk scones that instantly become a huge and lucrative success at the local market, especially with the idiotic factor himself who greedily buys and gobbles these treats and can’t believe something so tasty exists outside London. (As Lu shrewdly says: “Some people can’t imagine themselves being stolen from. ”) But then the factor invites the pair to provide a super-special cake for a tea-party he is hosting for a visiting army officer (Scott Shepherd). It is a tale of danger and hubris, but without hubris, no great fortune can be made. The ruling class from whose naivety the pair hope to scavenge their riches are arrogant and high-handed with both the immigrant labour and the native Americans with whom the factor has a supercilious conversation about hunting beavers. Like Lu and Figowitz, this man is concerned with market forces. When the officer tells him he has had to give a beating of 20 strokes of the belt to a mutineer, the factor says that is too lenient, and when the officer says that more strokes would render him unfit for work, the factor counters that this would be offset by the increased work rate from the other (terrified) men. (In a similar spirit, Lu and Figowitz finely calculate their prices for their cakes. ) But they are always liable to be robbed or informed upon or arrested and our two heroes must also calculate the moment at which they will cut and run. It is a tremendously engaging story which does something that very few movies do: mention money. Something very palpable is at stake, the jeopardy is real and it’s a question of survival.

They did this by banning anyone who mentions the other subreddits or engages in any debate of the policy. This is a theme that we will revisit. The 2015 drama over this was the biggest thing on reddit until spez or some shit. The rebels create r/Freefolk. Mottos: "Say what you want" and "We do not kneel. " Kneeling means submitting to the complex yet vague ruleset that the toxic nerds had created in the two big subs. The interests of Freefolk moderators included but were not limited to: Growing a community for refugees from the kneeler subs. Discussing the show and the books without concern for spoilers. Either you are caught up or you do not care about spoilers. Issuing threats to women that you will rape them in real life. Acting as contacts for people with information to leak from the show. Memes. The Adolescence Wait, did you say rape threats? Now, one of those items on the list of interests sticks out a little, but we will return to that in a moment. The moderator who likes to make the threats will be referred to as the "ex-con mod" from here on. I was a moderator of r/Freefolk for one week in 2016. This was in response to my liberation of r/ASOIAFCirclejerk and ideas for collaboration between r/CleganeBowl and r/Freefolk. I advocated energetically for r/Freefolk as the lightly moderated Thrones forum that the internet desperately needed. There was constant conflict with the ex-con mod. He exemplifies the case for implementing eugenics better than anyone I have ever encountered on reddit. He lacked the nuance to understand CleganeBowl and therefore labelled me a troll. I was enjoying some fine cocktails one night and I pranked them into thinking that /u/Jen_Snow was now top mod, by changing the stylesheet. Jen is the muscle on the r/ASOIAF mod team. Top active mod takes ex-cons side. Removed as moderator. Worth it. A mod I will refer to as "the new bitch" was added in 2017. They took a vote to change the rules of the sub. Only a small percentage of the subscribers participated in the vote or were even aware of it. The new rules were ambiguous and applied arbitrarily. For example "No excessive politics / racism. " Depending on the mod, that means no politics at all. Ex-con is the only moderator from the original gang who is active. The new bitch and the ex-con dominate the sub and the moderation. As previously mentioned: I advocated energetically for r/Freefolk as the lightly moderated Thrones forum that the internet desperately needed. When they changed it, I still advocated for that. The new bitch methodically keeps track of meta discussion or criticism of their actions in other sub. She is a pathological liar and a narcissist. She created a narrative that I was romantically interested in her. Perhaps that is because she is "San-San shipper" (these are the equivalent of Twilight fans, and they fantasise that when they were 13 years old and still under 300 lbs, an adult man was in love with them). She may be confused about this account and not understand that Sandor Clegane is a fictional character. Moderators of Freefolk effectively shadowbanned me by implementing an automoderator rule to delete my posts and comments. I debate this with them via modmail and they permanently ban me. They care naught for 'muh freeze peaches' or their own rules. Mediators call this 'escalation. ' In the background, the Freefolk sub, which was spawned by a rebellion against r/GameOfThrones and r/ASOIAF moderation now spawned its own rebellion. A new sub was born - r/MaestersOfTheFreefolk. I was not involved in this, or even aware of it when it happened. In any event, this drove the new bitch and the ex-con insane. They banned all the MaestersOfTheFreefolk moderators. They unbanned one of them and then reported his alt account to the admins for ban evasion. Context: the admins are employees of reddit. This resulted in the suspension of his reddit account. He was eventually able to get this reversed. Point is, they lied to cause an account suspension. The ex-con created an account to impersonate one of their mods and bragged about raping children. This was brought to the attention of the admins. Ex-con had his reddit account suspended. I asked him why, he said he didn't know you impersonation is deemed harassment - as if the pedophilia stuff was irrelevant. Ex-con creates an alt. account, new bitch adds him back as a moderator. More hilarious shenanigans. Turns out ex-con made an account years before called 'MaisieWilliamsVagina. ' Maisie Williams is a Game of Thrones actress who had recently turned 18. He deemed her fair game and trolled the sub he moderates with this account. Even the Freefolk mods were shocked when they discovered this. Ex-con keeps sending rape threats to one of the moderators of r/MaestersOfTheFreefolk and gets all his alts suspended. Main account is suspended permanently. We will refer to lady in question as 'his prey. ' This is relevant - she is actually extremely good looking in real life, and the new bitch is not. Imagine George R. His suspended account is still the bottom moderator of r/Freefolk. He created another alt. account, because reasons, and is asking his prey to forgive him. All of this conflict is a result of Freefolk moderators deciding they would not suffer criticism in other subreddits. They crossed a line in attempting to prevent discussion outside their perview. This is exactly the same thing that happened with r/ASOIAF in 2015. They named and shamed and harassed /u/Jen_Snow for years for that. Legendary late-night talk show host’s world is turned upside down when she hires her only female staff writer. Originally intended to smooth over diversity concerns, her decision has unexpectedly hilarious consequences as the two women separated by culture and generation are united by their love of a biting punchline. Starring Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson. High Life Really good reviews, sci-fi that looks like it could be pretty trippy. A father and his daughter struggle to survive in deep space where they live in isolation. Directed by Claire Denis. Starring Robert Pattinson. Radegund A Terrence Mallick movie, so it's going to be divisive, but the plot does have potential. Told through real wartime letters, this love story finds a couple in conflict with the members of their close-knit town, their church, their government, and even their friends — all of which brings them to a dramatic choice. Directed by Terrence Mallick. Starring August Deihl and Valerie Pachner. Luce I know every movie is called a sign of the times, but this one seems particularly geared towards the current politics. Really good Sundance reviews. A star athlete and top student, Luce’s idealized image is challenged by one of his teachers when his unsettling views on political violence come to light, putting a strain on family bonds while igniting intense debates on race and identity. Directed by Julius Onah. Starring Kelvin Harrison Jr., Naomi Watts, Tim Roth and Octavia Spencer. The Souvenir This one just got rave reviews at Sundance. A quiet film student begins finding her voice as an artist while navigating a turbulent courtship with a charismatic but untrustworthy man. Directed by Joanna Hogg. Starring Honor Swinton-Byrne, Tom Burke, Tilda Swinton and Richard Ayoade. Untitled Noah Baumbach Project This one is obviously a bit unknown. But the cast looks amazing, and if it turns out as good as The Meyerowitz Stories, I can't wait to watch. Will be a Netflix film. Directed by Noah Baumbach. They kill the police officer in self-defense and rather than turn themselves in, they go on the run. Directed by Melina Matsoukas. Starring Daniel Kaluuya and Jodie Turner-Smith. The Farewell Another film with good reviews out of Sundance. A headstrong Chinese-American woman returns to China when her beloved grandmother is given a terminal diagnosis. Billi struggles with her family’s decision to keep grandma in the dark about her own illness as they all stage an impromptu wedding to see grandma one last time. Directed by Lulu Wang. Starring Awkwafina. Long Shot A comedy with a cool cast by Jonathan Levine. A political journalist tries to hook up with his old babysitter, who now holds an important government position. Directed by Jonathan Levine. Starring Seth Rogen, Charlize Theron and Alexander Skarsgård. Rocketman I was disappointed with Bohemian last year, so I'm reminding myself to be sceptical, but I hope this is excellent. Trailer here. The story of Elton John's life, from his years as a prodigy at the Royal Academy of Music through his influential and enduring musical partnership with Bernie Taupin. Directed by Dexter Fletcher. Big Time Adolescence It's a little too early to tell from the Sundance reviews, but I really hope this is good. Pete Davidson and the guy who plays Sam in American Vandal star. A 16 year old virgin with a growth hormone deficiency slowly gets corrupted by his hero, an aimless college dropout. Directed by Jason Orley. Starring Pete Davidson and Griffin Gluck. Triple Frontier The cast for this Netflix action thriller is awesome. If the trailer and director is anything to go by though, this looks really promising. Struggling to make ends meet, former special ops soldiers reunite for a high-stakes heist: stealing $75 million from a South American drug lord. Directed by J. C. Chandor (Margin Call). Starring Ben Affleck, Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam and Pedro Pascal. Chaos Walking I hope this is amazing, but the premise sounds incredibly difficult to pull off. Starring Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley. The Rosie Project Few details are out. Ryan Reynolds, based on a good book. An unlucky-in-love university professor creates an elaborate questionnaire in an effort to find a wife and meets an unconventional woman who doesn’t match any of his “requirements”, but might be the perfect woman for him. Directed by Ben Taylor. Starring Ryan Reynolds. The Beach Bum The trailer looks completely wack. Make sure you watch it: An irreverent comedy about the misadventures of Moondog, a rebellious stoner and lovable rogue who lives large. Directed by Harmony Korine (Spring Breakers). Starring Matthew McConaughey, Snoop Dogg, Zac Efron and Isla Fisher. Parasite I don't know much about this one, but the director previously made Snowpiercer, Okja and my favourite, Memories of Murder. I'm excited. All unemployed, Ki-taek’s family takes peculiar interest in the Parks for their livelihood until they get entangled in an expected incident. Directed by Bong Joon-Ho. Starring Song Kang-ho, Lee Sun-kyun, Jo Yeo-jeong and Choi Woo-shik. I Am Mother This one comes from nowhere. An indie sci-fi with with an interesting plot, and good Sundance reviews. A teenage girl is raised underground by a robot “Mother”, designed to repopulate the earth following an extinction event. But their unique bond is threatened when an inexplicable stranger arrives with alarming news. 0 Directed by Grant Sputore. Starring Hillary Swank, Clara Rugaard-Larsen and Rose Byrne. Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile You’ve more than likely heard of this one. Ted Bundy film starring Zac Efron. I’m not sure how excited I am for the film, but Efron’s performance is apparently very good. A chronicle of the crimes of Ted Bundy, from the perspective of his longtime girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer, who refused to believe the truth about him for years. Directed by Joe Berlinger. Starring Lily Collins, Zac Efron and John Malkovich. The Nightingale The second film from the director of the Babadook. Really promising (and slightly divisive) reviews out of Sundance. Fun fact: you can kinda measure the divisiveness of a film on RT by comparing the percentage meter with the average rating. If the percentage is high but the average rating is low, it shows that the film is all-round solid and inoffensive. If the percentage rating is lower but the average rating is still high/moderate, it means there’s a large gap between those who loved and didn’t like it. Anyway, back to the Nightingale. I’m excited - doubly so since it’s an Aussie film. In 1829, Claire, a 21-year-old Irish convict, chases a British soldier through the rugged Tasmanian wilderness, bent on revenge for a terrible act of violence he committed against her family. She enlists the services of an Aboriginal tracker named Billy, who is also marked by trauma from his own violence-filled past. Directed by Jennifer Kent. Starring Aisling Franciosi, Sam Claflin, Damon Herriman and Ewen Leslie. The Dead Don't Die Another awesome cast, definitely one to look forward to. The plot summary isn’t out, but it’s a comedy zombie flick. Directed by Jim Jarmusch. Starring Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Selena Gomez, Chloë Sevigny, Austin Butler, Steve Buscemi and Tilda Swinton. Memoria Tilda Swinton seems to be working a lot, woah. Memoria revolves around a character (portrayed by Tilda Swinton) who suffers from exploding head syndrome, a psychological condition in which a person experiences loud noises when falling asleep or waking up. Directed by Apichatpong Weerasethakul. Starring Tilda Swinton and Jeanne Balibar. Where'd You Go, Bernadette The trailer for this, particularly the music, wasn’t good. The content of the trailer shows a lot of potential though, and the book is apparently really good. Also: Richard Linklater. When architect-turned-recluse Bernadette Fox goes missing prior to a family trip to Antarctica, her 15-year-old daughter Bee goes on a quest with Bernadette’s husband to find her. A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood Tom Hanks seems made for this role. Should be good. For some reason it reminds me of Denis Villeneuve's early film, Incendies (if you haven’t watched yet, make it your next film - it’s incredible. ) A young couple not ready to expect their first baby track down a cradle, only to make a discovery that will change their family forever. Directed by Hope Dickson Leach. Starring Jack O'Connell and Lily Collins. The Woman in the Window A Rear Window-esque movie with a great cast and director. Really hoping this is great, cos I love these kind of plots. An agoraphobic woman living alone in New York begins spying on her new neighbors only to witness a disturbing act of violence. Directed by Joe Wright. Starring Amy Adams, Gary Oldman, Julianne Moore and Wyatt Russell. Gemini Man The plot is crazy, but the cast and director can definitely pull it off. Henry Brogen, an aging assassin tries to get out of the business but finds himself in the ultimate battle: fighting his own clone who is 25 years younger than him and at the peak of his abilities. Directed by Ang Lee. Starring Will Smith, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Clive Owen and Benedict Wong. The Last Black Man in San Francisco Yet another film with great reviews from Sundance. Jimmie Fails dreams of reclaiming the Victorian home his grandfather built in the heart of San Francisco. Joined on his quest by his best friend Mont, Jimmie searches for belonging in a rapidly changing city that seems to have left them behind. Directed by Joe Talbot. Starring Jimmie Fails, Jonathan Majors, Rob Morgan and Tichina Arnold. Blinded by the Light Sundance musta been real great this year, cos once again we have another movie with good reviews out of it. This is reminding me of 2017, when I made a similar post - and 2017 was an absolutely amazing year overall, especially in light of the relative disappointment of 2018. There’s just so much promise in every category - horror, thriller, biopics, drama, action, comedy… and if you count zombie films as a genre unto themselves, then yeah, that too. Of course, I cannot wait for Tarantino’s flick. But after that it’s hard to pick ordered favourites - Knives Out, The Dead Don’t Die, Us, The Report and Luce are films I cannot wait for, but there are so many others I’m pumped for - and I haven’t even gone into the blockbusters. "Blood On Her Name" is one such film. The film was a tense-filled affair that delivers a very deep and emotional look into the psyche and destructive life of our protagonist. When a woman (Bethany Anne Lind) accidentally kills a man who was robbing her shop, she initially tries to cover-up by dumping the body for good. But when her conscience eats her up, she is forced to consider returning the dead man's body to his family. The decision, out of good will, might just bring her and her family's ultimate undoing. If there's one thing that makes "Blood On Her Name" a successful character piece, it would be Bethany Anne Lind. She brought in one heck of a performance as a struggling mother with a dark past and even darker secret and one with a guilty conscience to boot. Her performance was not only authentic but it was powerful. The film had a simple narrative to follow but Lind's acting brought in a lot of color, nuance, and dilemma into the mix. So much so that we felt that the film's story was a bit of a letdown against her performance. The narrative was solid and it had a lot of moral conflicts in between but it failed to reveal everything - specifically the back story of why our main character Leigh Tiller did what she did. It was really hard to root for Leigh as her dark past began to unravel and knowing that she wasn't as innocent as she was making herself to be. There's this foreboding sense of dread all throughout the film - viewers knowing that there really isn't a good ending for anyone involved - and we actually loved that. Matthew Pope was able to wrap things up effectively and efficiently making the whole experience last less than 90 minutes without feeling short-changed. "Blood On Her Name" will ultimately make you think about its dilemmas and issues and will keep you involved throughout its running time. How many films can actually boast about that? Rating: 3. 5 out of 5.

I cant believe they actually showed the entire movie, right down to the method she uses to see him, and how she kills him. “Anuddaddadaeawahasahnammemfaugeosmaomada” is the most influential line Ive ever heard in rap. Ok, this little movie here started absolutely great, amazing execution for such a production, lovely tension build up, and managed to keep up this fast pace for quite a while. But the last part, it is quite disappointing actually, perhaps there was less room for imagination and they had to settle for an ending that did not deliver, created huge plot holes and had the viewer genuinely asking, What is happening and why?
Dark Light managed to create a tiny world for itself, with its own rules, but most of it went down the drain once the third act came in place, and I can't stop wondering how things derailed so much. I am still going to recommend it for it is an effort far better than most, even tho it feels like a let down in the very end, it does deserve more attention and perhaps some praise as well.
In the future, I hope the people involved in the making of Dark Light, take some extra time in order to offer their next projects a more constant tone, till the credits show up.

Seems everyone in her cornfield has a hunting spotlight in the middle of their forehead. Mom must kill an endangered species (it's okay it is Mississippi) to save her daughter who is mute for much of the film.
It was an okay film. Kristina Clifford needed to be a little more homespun. Gerald Tyler was never properly developed to where we could enjoy him. Paul was bland.
